Local administration of the Slobodzeia and Slobodzeia district

The local administration is guided by the law “On local authorities and administration in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic”. The local administration consists of five boards: of culture, public education, agriculture, social security and finance; and six departments: of the economy, land-tenure regulations, state property, municipal economy, a registry office and archives.
The economic council and 25 commissions were established at the local administration.
The district consists of 15 rural administrations: Slobodzeiskaya, Krasnianskaya, Pervomaiskaya, Blizhnehutorskaya, Vladimirovskaya, Glinianskaya, Kitskanskaya, Karagashskaya, Nezavertailovskaya, Parkanskaya, Sukleiskaya, Ternovskaya, Frunzenskaya, Chobruchskaya and Korotnianskaya.
The total number of population is 110 696 people. Slobodzeia is an administrative center of the district. The district is situated in the South-East on the left bank (some settlements are on the right bank) of the river Dniester. It borders on the Republic of Moldova and the Ukraine. It is an agricultural district. Its total area is 87 324 ha, including farming lands (71 161 ha).
There are 703 enterprises and organizations, including 290 limited liability companies, 70 state enterprises, 45 budgetary institutions, 35 schools and kindergartens, 17 kolkhozes and cooperative societies, 9 consumers’ cooperatives in the district.
There are 68 institutions of culture. They are 20 palaces of culture, 5 music schools for children, 41 libraries, 4 museums, 4 sport schools, an art school in the district.
